My dearest sweet Faida....
My life is in a good place, and thought it was time to reconnect. It has been too long since we last spoke. I thought to check the internet to see hints of your evolution - you are always so prolific. I found your gallery, with an end date. I am shocked and so sad. I am remembering how we met, our belly laughs in Sierra Leone, your dressing to audition as an aerobics instructor in Brooklyn, and our discussion of how it would probably be best to stay true to your passion. All that fried tofu, and a splash of cayenne in your daily tea. And those letters that always hugged my heart. The returned Christmas card. I wish I hadn't waited to contact you.
Tommy - big hugs to you and your boys. You've been blessed with such a wonderful rich life with Oni - what memories to carry you through.

I had the amazing pleasure and honor to work with Oni. I also performed one of her dynamic plays. I was at her memorial at New Dramatists and experienced the magic and love that surrounded her and she inspired.
I was thinking about her today, because my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer today. I wish her the dignity, strength, courage and tenacity that Oni displayed.

I never knew you Oni but I do appreciate your courage and your strength. I wish I would have known you personally, but as other angels that have touched my life, I never got to say "thank you beautiful soul". I am saying it now, for all the people whose life you touched in this life and even the ones that you have touched after your visit her. "A SOULFUL THANK YOU!"
I will continue to study your life from this day forward.
